WPSD Transitions

I wanted to make users/aspiring users aware of some WPSD Project transitions we’ve been making recently…

  • Most WPSD disk images are now Bookworm-based only. We will still support and provide updates for the existing Bullseye-based installations for at least another year from the date of this writing.
There are a few remaining NanoPi/Armbian-based disk images we will move to Bookworm as soon as we have the time.
  • We will no longer support nor recommend users install or use WPSD on the first generation, single core v1.1 RaspberryPi Zero released in 2015. I have waited long enough to drop support for this slow architecture, and we simply won’t/don’t support it. If you ask for support when running this arcane and slow board, we will simply tell you to upgrade your SBC/board.
Time to upgrade folks. No excuses.
  • And as mentioned in a previous announcement in late 2024, we no longer will provide disk images nor support for any OrangePi platform. It’s slow and junk.
    Get something better and supported.
